About the Role

Stampede Solution Sdn Bhd is the leading technology provider to the Accounts Receivable Management and Recovery industry in Malaysia. As a Software Engineer, L2 at Stampede Solution, you'll help create new features and enhancements to our account receivables and debt collection products, from concept through to launch. You'll work closely with the development team to design, implement, and test solutions that are reliable, compelling, and easy to use. 

Key Accountabilities

• Participate in the detailed design, implementation, and testing of web and desktop-based business applications
• Produce clear software documentation and run your code through unit test procedures
• Troubleshoot and identify bugs in existing software, then design and release fixes
• Share knowledge and support other team members

Software Development

• Take projects from initial design through to test environment, continuing to evaluate throughout deployment and lifecycle
• Apply best-practice development and design patterns
• Contribute to analysis and planning during the design phase of projects
• Execute conversion plans, document possible improvements, and flag process disruptions
• Self-test your code, diagnose problems, and debug effectively
• Identify opportunities to improve our products, development processes, or engineering environment
• Estimate the effort required for design, development, and testing tasks

Application Support

• Provide support on software applications as required

Teamwork

• Attend and contribute to team meetings in a positive manner
• Share information proactively with team members
• Work comfortably with all stakeholders, technical and non-technical
• Collaborate with the team to bring in new ideas, practices, and tools that improve effectiveness
• Perform other duties as required, including covering absences/leave

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with demonstrated success across analysis, design, implementation, and deployment
• Strong desire to keep learning
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concept
• Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
• Familiarity with version control concepts
• Strong knowledge of PHP; experience with the Laravel framework is a strong plus
• Ability to write efficient database scripts, with solid understanding of relational database design and querying
• Experience with Linux environments and setting up Apache/PHP web applications (CentOS or Redhat preferred)
• Knowledge of jQuery and Vue.js
• Exposure to web development using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
• Exposure to enterprise-level software development — architecture, build-up, and ongoing support
• Knowledge of client/server application development
• Knowledge of unit testing theory
