We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects from contract award through commissioning and final handover. The role is accountable for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Delivery: Lead multiple projects throughout the complete lifecycle. Establish clear execution plans, priorities, governance, ownership and recovery actions to achieve contractual milestones and successful handover.
- Planning and Resource Management: Own the integrated scope, schedule, manpower, procurement and resource plans. Anticipate constraints, align project priorities and resolve resource or interface gaps before delivery is affected.
- Financial and Commercial Performance: Control budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete, cash flow and profitability. Protect and improve margin through cost control, timely billing, variation recovery, claims management and prevention of scope leakage.
- Contract and Stakeholder Management: Administer contractual obligations and lead negotiations, changes, claims and dispute resolution. Maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Align Engineering, Supply Chain, PMO, Finance, Commercial, fabrication, construction and commissioning. Define required inputs, accountable owners and due dates, and drive issues to verified closure.
- Construction, Commissioning and QHSE: Oversee site execution, testing, commissioning and handover to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, schedule, quality requirements and health, safety and environmental standards.
- Risk, Governance and QMS Compliance: Maintain active risk, issue, opportunity and decision controls. Ensure accurate reporting, document control, approvals and full compliance with company QMS procedures, policies and delegated authority.
- Team Leadership and Improvement: Guide and hold Project Managers, Project Engineers and project teams accountable. Develop capability, capture lessons learned, improve execution practices and support tendering and business development when required.
Job Requirements:
- Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 12 years of project delivery experience, including at least 5 years managing complex EPC, infrastructure, industrial, or water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects throughout the full lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover, and close-out.
- Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, claims, variations, and stakeholder management.
- Experience in municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment projects is preferred.
- Experience managing FIDIC or similar engineering/construction contracts is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Sound knowledge of project governance, risk management, QMS, QHSE, and contractual compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
- Willingness to travel regionally or internationally as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project planning and scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with project reporting and document management systems.
