Job Summary:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of T&D substation projects. The role includes cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within budget and in compliance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for T&D substation projects.
- Conduct cost control and cost monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and manage contracts, variations, claims, and payments.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost efficiency.
- Prepare progress payment certificates and advise on contractual and financial matters.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate cost and contractual risks.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding commercial matters.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of all financial transactions and project costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in T&D substation or electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement processes, and construction cost control.
- Experience with NEC, FIDIC, or other standard construction contracts.
- Proficient in MS Office and cost estimation software.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
