Job Summary
The Assembly Technician is responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning support of custom automation machines and equipment. The role requires the ability to read engineering drawings, use hand and power tools, and ensure machines are assembled according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of automation machines, production equipment, jigs, and fixtures according to engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Assemble machine frames, conveyor systems, linear guides, ball screws, pneumatic components, sensors, motors, and other mechanical parts.
- Install and align machine components to ensure proper operation and accuracy.
- Assist in machine setup, adjustment, debugging, and commissioning.
- Work closely with Electrical Engineers and Software Engineers during machine integration and testing.
- Perform basic pneumatic tubing installation and air leakage checks.
- Conduct functional testing and identify assembly issues or defects.
- Troubleshoot and rectify mechanical problems during assembly and testing.
- Ensure all work is completed according to quality standards and project schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Follow company safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in packing, loading, installation, and on-site machine setup when required.
- Support machine servicing, maintenance, modification, and customer site troubleshooting.
- Record assembly progress and report any technical issues to the Supervisor or Project Engineer.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
