Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Solar PV Design Engineer with a valid SEDA GCPV Certification to join our growing renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring compliance with SEDA Malaysia, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), TNB, and relevant Malaysian standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to support projects from design through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design grid-connected Solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial (C&I) projects.
• Prepare PV system layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, and construction drawings.
• Perform system sizing, energy yield analysis, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and equipment selection.
• Ensure all designs comply with SEDA Malaysia, ST, TNB, MS IEC standards, and relevant local regulations.
• Prepare technical documentation for authority submissions and client approval.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout project execution.
• Provide technical support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies where required.
• Review project specifications and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Support troubleshooting and design improvements throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Valid SEDA Grid-Connected PV (GCPV) Systems Design Certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Solar PV system design, electrical engineering principles, and renewable energy technologies.
• Familiar with Malaysian standards, including SEDA, ST, TNB, MS IEC, and relevant building regulations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using PV design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a project environment.
• Willing to travel to project sites when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Solar PV system design
• Fresh GCPV-certified candidates may also be considered depending on competency
• Valid GCPV Certification issued by SEDA Malaysia.
• Professional Engineer (PE/Ir.) registration is an added advantage.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
