What You Do

We are looking for a creative, technologically curious, and analytically driven Digital Product Owner to join the NUS IT team. In this role, you will shape the user experience of digital platforms used by the NUS community, actively contribute to the delivery of solutions, and support end-to-end product execution in a dynamic, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

UX/UI Design

• Design and deliver intuitive, user-centric interfaces for NUS digital platforms, mobile applications, and web products — spanning wireframes, interactive prototypes, and production-ready design assets using tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
• Proactively identify opportunities where AI can enhance user experience, streamline interactions, or unlock new capabilities within the products you design — translating these opportunities into concrete UX concepts and AI-augmented design solutions.
• Plan and conduct user research activities — including contextual interviews, surveys, and usability testing sessions — to uncover user needs and translate behavioural insights into design decisions, including the framing of use cases with clearly defined user problems and measurable success criteria.
• Design user-facing experiences, iterate rapidly on designs based on user feedback, testing outcomes, and stakeholder input, maintaining a high standard of usability and accessibility across all touchpoints.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across NUS digital products and platforms.
• Create supporting visual and graphic assets for digital communications where needed, including eDMs, microsites, banners, and social media content, ensuring brand coherence across channels.

Product Delivery

• Support end-to-end delivery of solutions - from discovery and use case definition through prototyping, implementation, rollout, and post-launch continuous improvement - working alongside product managers and engineering teams.
• Translate business and user needs into clearly defined use cases, shaping functional requirements, solution approaches, and measurable success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Assist in the design and implementation of agentic workflows and AI-powered automations using orchestration platforms such as n8n, helping to integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems, data sources, and business processes.
• Coordinates delivery milestones — including sprint planning, user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live preparation, and post-launch reviews — ensuring smooth execution across cross-functional teams.
• Track and document product feedback, bugs, and enhancement requests, working with developers and product managers to prioritise and manage the product backlog, including iterative improvements to features.
• Prepare clear and concise product documentation, presentation decks, and stakeholder updates to communicate progress, design rationale, solution outcomes, and delivery status effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Who You Are

Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Interactive Media, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe XD for wireframing and prototyping.
• Demonstrated experience in user research methodologies (interviews, surveys, usability testing).
• A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end UX/UI design projects, ideally including work that incorporates AI-driven features or data-informed design decisions.
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• A genuine interest in and working awareness of AI technologies — including generative AI, agentic AI, and workflow automation — and how they can be applied to improve digital products and user experiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a genuine curiosity for understanding user behaviour and translating complex needs into elegant solutions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate design and AI solution rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experimentation with AI tools, platforms, or orchestration tools (e.g. n8n or similar) — whether through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
• Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign.
• Exposure to motion design (e.g. Adobe After Effects).
• Good understanding of Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Interest or coursework in product management, data analytics, human-computer interaction, or AI ethics.
• Relevant AI certifications or demonstrated continuous learning in the AI domain (e.g. prompt engineering, AI product design, or machine learning fundamentals)
• Certification in PMP, CITPM, Scrum or equivalent certifications.
• Experience in Higher Education or public sector digital transformation.
