This position will be responsible for China payroll process.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
GBS HR Operations:
Service Excellence & SLA Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of payroll processing requests, ensuring precise, timely execution in alignment with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and pay cycle deadlines.
Advanced Service Delivery: Manage complex and high-priority service requests, ensuring execution excellence in alignment with established SLAs and targets.
Payroll Accuracy & Quality Assurance: Execute high-accuracy payroll data updates and perform rigorous audits of payroll registers and variance reports to maintain the integrity of payroll outputs.
Reporting & Payroll Analytics: Deliver scheduled and ad-hoc payroll reports, providing stakeholders with accurate data for labor cost analysis and financial reporting.
Tax & Statutory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with local payroll tax filing, social security contributions, and pension reporting through secure data handling and administration.
Payroll Process Optimization (CI): Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and lead the execution of process improvements to boost team productivity and cost efficiency.
Knowledge Management: Maintain and enhance payroll operational documentation, including SOPs, country-specific tax rules, and FAQs, ensuring they reflect current best practices.
Subject Matter Expertise (SME): Serve as a technical escalation point for junior team members, providing guidance on complex data maintenance and issue resolution.
Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with HRBPs and local entity stakeholders to ensure a deep understanding of local business requirements and the implementation of best practices.
Issue Resolution & Escalation: Promptly identify and resolve payroll discrepancies or calculation errors, following through to root cause analysis to ensure long-term process stability.
GBS HR Transition & Setup:
Execute end-to-end payroll data migration, validation, and system setup activities during Global Business Services (GBS) expansions. This role ensures the accurate, compliant, and timely transition of payroll services for new country scopes or entities into the centralized GBS Payroll system.
Key Responsibilities include:
Payroll Data Onboarding & Fit-Gap Analysis: Review and map legacy payroll elements (earnings, deductions, taxes) against GBS payroll templates to identify local requirements and statutory specificities.
Payroll Data Cleansing & Validation: Execute profiling and cleansing of payroll master data and YTD balances in partnership with local finance/HR stakeholders to ensure data readiness.
Parallel Run Support & Validation: Support the execution of parallel payroll runs, performing detailed variance analysis between legacy and new systems to ensure calculation accuracy.
System Testing & UAT Execution: Run payroll-specific test scripts to verify calculations for net pay, taxes, social security, and integrations with GL/Accounting systems.
Statutory Compliance & Tax Review: Audit incoming payroll workflows to ensure adherence to local tax laws, labor regulations, and social security reporting standards.
Knowledge Transfer & Documentation: Support the creation and review of payroll-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids for the new entities.
Transition Hypercare & Stabilization: Provide dedicated troubleshooting and defect resolution during the initial payroll cycles post-go-live to ensure process stability and timely payment to employees.
Are you a MATCH?
3-5 years experience in payroll processing and management in a shared service centre environment, preferably in a HR services environment.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages a plus.
Knowledge in usage of HR systems such as Workday & SNOW to perform the relevant payroll and reporting activities is a plus.
Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office / Google suite of software.
High level of discretion and confidentiality with the handling of employee payroll data.
Knowledge of payroll statutory regulations, data privacy acts, and other related regulations.
Experience to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
