Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Drafter to join our Engineering team in Malaysia. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, DXF files, and related engineering documentation that support manufacturing and project execution.

Working closely with engineers, project teams, and production personnel, the Drafter plays a critical role in ensuring designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with RCI Adventure Products' global engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. CAD Drafting & Design

• Develop accurate 2D and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and other approved CAD software.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, shop drawings, DXF files, and nesting layouts for manufacturing.
• Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and design inputs into detailed production drawings.
• Update and revise drawings based on engineering changes, project requirements, or production feedback.
• Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and engineering specifications.

2. Engineering & Production Support

• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to understand technical requirements and design intent.
• Support production by providing drawing clarifications and resolving technical issues during fabrication.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and suitable for installation.
• Participate in engineering reviews, design discussions, and continuous product improvements.

3. Documentation & Drawing Control

• Maintain accurate CAD files, drawing registers, revision histories, and engineering documentation.
• Ensure proper document control and version management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and drawing packages for manufacturing and procurement.
• Support Quality Assurance (QA) documentation requirements related to fabrication and engineering.

4. Continuous Improvement

• Recommend improvements to drafting processes, CAD standards, and engineering workflows.
• Assist in developing standard drawing templates and reusable CAD libraries.
• Support standardization initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and manufacturing quality.
• Contribute ideas that enhance productivity and reduce engineering rework.

Requirement

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in CAD drafting, engineering design, fabrication, steel structures, manufacturing, construction, or related industries.
• Experience in adventure parks, amusement rides, theme parks, custom steel fabrication, or structural projects is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
