JOB SPECIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Building Construction, Civil or Structural Engineering, or other equivalent fields.

2. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION/OTHER RELEVANT CERTIFICATION (PREFERRED)

  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

3. WORKING EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in infrastructure and building construction.
  • Proven experience as Project Manager specialising in project management in diverse range of construction projects.

4. KEY/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • In-depth knowledge of design, construction and building systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant software in regards to project management as well as building and infrastructure design.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and issues arising at site or contractual matters.
  • Ability to work under stress.
  • Ability to influence: Build value of preferred alternatives by relating them to others’ needs; respond to differing views by emphasizing value; articulate problems with undesirable alternatives.
  • Accountability: Take responsibility for outcomes (positive or negative) of one’s work; hold self and others accountable for reaching short- and long-term goals.
  • Delegation: Define and clearly communicate the parameters of the delegated responsibility, including decision-making authority and any required actions, constraints, or deadlines.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Manager is responsible for the strategic development of the entire site management functions to support and drive organizational goals. Ultimately, you will be overseeing project development and implementation to ensure all aspects of the assigned project(s) are in compliance with local building codes and regulations as well as in aligned with departmental goals and objectives.

  • Develop project strategies and establish implementation plans to achieve objectives and long-range goals of the company.
  • Responsible for overall establishment, implementation and maintenance of project policies and procedures in compliance with contractual obligations and functions.
  • Responsible for developing or localising value engineering plan and cost saving measures for projects.
  • Manage the implementation of master programmes, construction methodologies, manpower planning, materials and plant schedules.
  • Generate detailed budget and ensure budget is monitored and controlled according to management’s expectations.
  • Oversee overall project management, ensuring quality, cost, statutory, safety, ISO and project scheduling requirements are met.
  • Develop standards for excellence to ensure high standard of construction services.
  • Build organizational capability by aligning internal processes and resources such as team goals, performance and development plans, staffing and budgeting.
  • Make strategic decisions and provide leadership and direction to the Construction Managers who implement those decisions.
  • Manage risks and mitigate disputes or issues with subcontractors or clients in order to avoid delays and reputational damage.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and local authorities in any related matters of site implementation.
  • Oversee contractual functions which include awards, scope of works, wastage control, requisitions, variation claims and progress payments.
  • Evaluate team members’ performance, and provide guidance or professional support to them for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate clear, professional and respectful communications in all interactions.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the superior and/or the management.

Pay: RM15,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
