JOB SPECIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or other equivalent fields.
2. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION/OTHER RELEVANT CERTIFICATION (PREFERRED)
- Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
3. WORKING EXPERIENCES
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in infrastructure or building construction, or related fields.
- Proven experience as Senior Site Engineer specialising in construction management in diverse range of construction projects.
4. KEY/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies and engineering design principles.
- Working knowledge of CAD software, drawing programs, and modelling software.
- Knowledge of relevant software in regards to project management as well as building and infrastructure design.
- Well versed in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or relevant software.
- Good project management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and issues arising at site or contractual matters.
- Ability to work under stress.
- Ability to influence: Build value of preferred alternatives by relating them to others’ needs; respond to differing views by emphasizing value; articulate problems with undesirable alternatives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deputy Construction Manager is responsible for overall planning, management, coordination and execution of construction works. Ultimately, you will assist in managing the assigned projects by ensuring the adherence to the required specifications, budget goals and timeline.
- Assist in managing various engineering and architectural aspects of construction activities. These include the review of temporary works, design adequacy, proper construction implementation and deployment of plant and machinery.
- Supervise overall progress of various construction work elements by achieving the set target/plan whilst maintaining the quality of works.
- Assist in managing the implementation of master programme, construction methodology, manpower, materials and plant schedules.
- Prepare fortnightly programmes (from the master programme) and assist with the monitoring and updating of work progress.
- Review drawings and documents related to structural, architectural, M&E, and interior design, ensuring the compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, and both authorities’ and employers’ requirements.
- Identify and solve discrepancies between structural, architectural and basic M&E drawings.
- Coordinate and interact with site staff and subcontractors to resolve any raised issues.
- Assist in managing the liaison with local authorities and subordinates.
- Monitor inspection and testing procedures of construction activities.
- Monitor subcontractors' progress, payments, valuations, variation orders and abortive works.
- Provide technical support to the project team, liaising with owners, architects, local authorities, consultant engineers and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor the implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) standards to ensure project comply with the guidelines as established by the authority.
- Schedule tower crane utilisation, downtime and tie-back.
- Maintain proper records, updated drawings, amendments and filed forms.
- Provide guidance to the team members in carrying out their tasks and improving both their technical and soft skills.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the superior and/or the management.
Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
