About the Role

We are seeking talented and motivated individuals for the role of Agile Developer. Successful candidates will be experienced programmers who can develop user stories, develop test cases, break down, design, and develop solutions in an environment with constant collaborative discussions. They will be matured individuals who are comfortable working in an agile environment with critical peer reviews of design and code. They must be able to offer constructive critical reviews of other’s designs and code. They must be able to collaboratively work with product owners to develop use stories and test cases. They will be able to research, trial, and recommend new technologies of interest to the group. They will have experience with taking code through testing, deployment, and production and will not have merely handed off code to QA and Production Support.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Quarkus.
• Build scalable, resilient microservices-based solutions and develop REST/SOAP APIs to support business and system integration requirements.
• Develop and maintain messaging solutions using JMS and Solace to enable reliable asynchronous communication.

Integration & API Management

• Design and implement integrations with internal and external systems, ensuring seamless connectivity through API management platforms such as Kong and Axway.
• Integrate applications with relational databases using ORM frameworks while optimizing database connectivity and performance.
• Document and maintain API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.

DevOps, Cloud & Deployment

• Manage application build and dependency processes using Maven and Git-based version control.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage solutions across OpenShift and AWS environments.
• Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) to support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and project delivery processes.

Testing, Quality Assurance & Performance

• Develop and maintain automated unit tests using JUnit and perform integration testing to validate end-to-end system functionality.
• Implement service virtualization to support development and testing activities.
• Conduct performance testing and optimization using tools such as JMeter to ensure application scalability and efficiency.

Collaboration, Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, database administration, messaging, integration, modeling, and upstream system teams to deliver technology solutions.
• Champion Agile best practices, driving continuous improvement initiatives while coaching team members to enhance delivery effectiveness and productivity.

Troubleshooting & Technical Problem Solving

• Perform code analysis, debugging, log analysis, and root-cause investigation to resolve complex technical issues.
• Apply strong analytical thinking, system-level understanding, and problem-solving skills to maintain application stability and performance.;

The Ideal Candidate

Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in microservice API development using Java frameworks.
• Deep expertise in Java Spring Boot, or Quarks frameworks.
• Demonstrated a strong AI mindset and familiarity with GenAI or AgenticAI tool.
• Extensive experience in cloud-native microservices development and API-first design.
• Demonstrated ability in building FaaS and Dev-in-a-box platforms.
• Strong experience in API integrations across enterprise systems and external vendors.
• Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s),SKE and OpenShift.
• Strong hands-on with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar databases.
• Knowledge of API and backend security mechanisms, including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and secrets management.
• Practical experience with Observability and Monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, ElasticAPM, Grafana, Prometheus, or the ELK stack.
• Deep understanding of Agile at scale, enterprise DevOps practices, and Atlassian tools.
• Experience leading regulatory, risk, or compliance-driven deliveries in BFSI.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills
• Willingness to work on both development and project management.
• Proven track record in vendor coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and delivery governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
