Job Purpose
To supervise the daily maintenance operations of the Engineering Department, ensuring all building systems, facilities, and equipment are maintained in a safe, efficient, and reliable condition. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, coordinates engineering personnel, and supports the smooth operation of the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of the Engineering team and allocate manpower for maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate and oversee scheduled repair and maintenance (R&M) and preventive maintenance programmes.
- Supervise maintenance of M&E systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection, ventilation, sound systems, and ELV services.
- Oversee building maintenance works including painting, carpentry, masonry, glazing, flooring, ceilings, furniture, fixtures, and structural repairs.
- Prepare maintenance schedules, material requisitions, and cost estimates for repair and installation works.
- Monitor chilled water and cooling water systems, including corrosion control and pipe replacement planning.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of swimming pools, recreation facilities, and water treatment systems.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders, incident reports, and installation projects.
- Monitor utility consumption (electricity, water, and gas) and maintain accurate engineering records.
- Conduct routine inspections of engineering equipment, tools, and facilities to ensure operational readiness.
- Prepare staff duty rosters, monitor attendance, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialised maintenance works as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering or building maintenance, preferably in a hotel, serviced residence, or commercial property.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building maintenance systems.
- Experience supervising maintenance personnel and coordinating daily engineering operations.
- Strong planning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programmes and workplace safety practices.
- Able to respond to emergencies and support operational requirements when needed.
Pay: RM2,600.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
