Job Summary
The Mechanical Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all mechanical installation activities at the project site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role is critical in delivering mechanical systems for data centre construction projects, including HVAC, chilled water systems, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and associated mechanical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily mechanical construction activities at the project site.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, suppliers, and site workers to ensure work progresses according to the approved schedule.
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, approved shop drawings, method statements, and relevant standards.
- Monitor installation works for HVAC systems, chilled water piping, ductwork, plumbing, fire protection systems, and other mechanical services.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical, ELV, and MEP) to avoid clashes and ensure smooth project execution.
- Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies before execution.
- Monitor material deliveries, storage, and utilization to prevent shortages or delays.
- Ensure all mechanical works are completed within the approved project timeline.
- Attend daily site coordination meetings and report work progress to the Project Manager.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, testing, and completed works.
- Assist the QAQC team during inspections and ensure prompt rectification of non-conformance issues.
- Support Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety policies, client requirements, and local regulations.
- Identify site risks and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical site supervision.
- Experience in Data Centre, industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical installations.
- Familiar with mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
- Knowledge of local authority requirements and Malaysian construction standards.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Good problem-solving and coordination abilities.
- Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (preferred).
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
