Astar partners with a well-respected company in oil and gas to help find their next QHSE Engineer, based in Kulai, Johor.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QHSE Engineer to oversee quality, health, safety, and environmental functions. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures, while supporting continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance
- Ensure processes and practices comply with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025 standards
- Ensure compliance with local regulations such as DOSH and DOE requirements
- Act as an internal auditor, conduct periodic audits across departments, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions
- Perform supplier and vendor audits together with subject matter experts and supply chain, and provide recommendation reports
Quality
- Manage calibration programs for QC equipment, including coordination with service providers and record keeping
- Create and review Inspection Test Plans in accordance with project-specific Application Procedure Specifications
- Act as the key contact person for customer quality-related enquiries
- Coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Prepare and issue Certificates of Conformity, Material Record Books, and related documentation
- Ensure compliance with all quality requirements and relevant ISO standards
- Understand testing requirements for materials as per applicable standards
HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)
- Coordinate HSE investigations
- Perform Risk Assessment, HIRARC, and EAIA with support from subject matter experts
- Enforce and ensure compliance with all HSE requirements
Document Control
- Manage document revisions and version control
- Control distribution of documents to internal and external stakeholders
Others
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma/Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is an advantage
- Good command of English
- Able to multitask and manage time effectively
- Good understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month

- Briefly describe your experience with HIRARC/Risk Assessments and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) or Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Have you prepared Inspection Test Plans (ITP) or Material Record Books (MRB)?
