· Job Summary

· The Import Specialist manages the end-to-end operational and regulatory aspects of incoming international shipments. You will serve as the primary liaison between overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Shipment Coordination: Track and monitor inbound ocean, air, or land freight from origin to final destination.
• Documentation Management: Review, verify, and process critical import paperwork, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists.
• Customs Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with local customs regulations, tariff classifications (HS codes), and government agency requirements.
• Milestone Tracking: Provide proactive milestone tracking and status updates to clients regarding delays, arrivals, and deliveries.
• Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with customs brokers, truckers, warehouses, and shipping lines to arrange smooth cargo clearance and final delivery.
• Billing & Costing: Verify vendor invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, and issue accurate final billing to customers

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in import operations specifically within a freight forwarding environment.
• Skills: Strong understanding of Incoterms, freight shipping terminology, and local customs clearance procedures.
• Systems: Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., CargoWise, EDI systems) and standard Microsoft Office tools.
• Attributes: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and excellent English communication skills
