Senior C++ Developer (Quantitative Trading Platform) - VP Level

Role Overview:
This role sits within a front office technology team focused on developing ultra-low-latency trading platforms for equities markets. You will play a key role in designing and delivering high-performance systems, working directly with traders, sales, and senior technology leadership to enhance trading capabilities and platform efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-performance, low-latency C++ trading systems for direct market access
- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery across multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Review and enhance system architecture to improve performance and reduce technical debt
- Collaborate closely with front office stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Conduct performance tuning and optimisation across critical trading workflows
- Lead code reviews and contribute to architectural decision-making
- Support testing, release, and production stability of trading systems
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team
Key Requirements: - 8+ years of experience in C++ development, with strong knowledge of modern C++
- Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming
- Proven experience building or optimising low-latency, high-performance systems
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments and system-level programming
- Experience working in distributed teams across regions
- Ability to engage with senior business and technology stakeholders
- Experience delivering complex systems through full SDLC (design to production)
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic development approach
Nice to Have: - Experience working on front office trading systems, particularly equities
- Exposure to algorithmic or high-frequency trading environments
- Familiarity with user-space networking or kernel bypass technologies
- Low-level TCP/IP and networking experience
- Prior experience working directly with traders or trading desks
