Tech Pipeline specializes in fixing the friction points where business processes break down. Our current focus involves assisting a regional financial technology group as they modernize their internal operations and clear out long-standing backlogs. We are looking for a Workflow Automation Assistant to help us document, test, and maintain the systems that keep their data moving.
About the role
This role is for someone who enjoys figuring out why a piece of data did not move from point A to point B. You will be dealing with actual configurations and ground truth rather than high-level theories or abstract frameworks. In this position, you will support our technical leads as they bridge the gap between old manual habits and new automated sequences. Being a fully remote role, you will need to be comfortable communicating clearly through documentation and written updates while we untangle messy approval chains and broken email notifications for our clients.
What you will be doing - Reading through system logs to find exactly where a specific record failed to sync between different software tools.
- Updating logical routing rules for support tickets and data entries based on instructions provided by technical leads.
- Performing daily checks on reconciliation reports to ensure financial data matches across internal databases.
- Drafting clear, step by step instructions for client teams to follow as they adopt new automated steps in their daily routine.
- Running manual tests on automated scripts in a staging environment to verify they handle edge cases correctly.
- Cleaning up backlogs of incorrectly tagged data to ensure the source of truth remains accurate.
- Assisting with the setup and maintenance of user permissions within our shared automation platforms.
- Monitoring automated alerts and flagging recurring errors to the technical team before they become major issues.
What we need from you - A logical mindset and the ability to follow complex multi-step instructions without skipping details.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets, specifically using basic formulas and data filters to organize information.
- The ability to write clearly and concisely about technical problems so others can understand the fix.
- A habit of double-checking your own work for small errors or inconsistencies before marking a task as complete.
- Basic understanding of how web services interact, such as a general idea of what an API does or how databases store information.
- Willingness to ask questions when an instruction seems unclear rather than guessing and moving forward.
- Independence and reliability required for a fully remote workday where much of your task list is self managed.
Helpful background - Previous experience in a role that required high accuracy and attention to detail, such as data entry or basic administrative work.
- Familiarity with common office software and a curiosity about how different apps talk to each other.
- Academic coursework in business systems, logic, computer science, or information technology.
- Exposure to simple automation tools or ticketing platforms like Zapier, Jira, or similar task management software.
What the role offers - A fully remote work environment where your output and the quality of your documentation matter most.
- The chance to work on high-stakes projects supporting a regional financial technology group.
- Attractive and competitive pay for the entry-level market.
- Direct experience with business operations software and modern automation techniques.
- Mentorship from senior technical operators who value practical fixes over corporate slide decks.
- Permanent, full-time employment with a focus on learning the technical reality of how businesses run.
Working at Tech Pipeline
Our culture is built on getting things fixed so they stay fixed. We avoid unnecessary meetings by relying heavily on written documentation and regular updates. This allows us to focus on the work itself rather than talking about it in circles. Because our goal is to hand over a working system that the client can eventually run themselves, we spend a lot of time ensuring our routing rules are sound and our SOPs are easy to follow. You will be expected to contribute to this archive of knowledge every day, helping us turn messy backlogs into organized, reliable workflows.
