Tech Pipeline specializes in fixing the operational friction that slows down growing businesses. We are currently supporting a regional financial technology group with the maintenance and repair of their internal data pipelines. This role is built for someone who wants to learn how modern operations actually work by getting their hands into the systems and logs that keep things moving.
About the role
We are helping a fintech group move away from manual data reconciliation. Currently, their data often drifts between their core processing systems and their reporting tools. As a Data Operations Assistant, you will help us monitor these flows and fix the small gaps before they become massive backlogs. This is a fully remote position where you will spend your time identifying why a transaction did not route correctly or why a specific record is stuck in a pending state. You will act as a guardian of the source of truth, making sure that when an operator pulls a report, the numbers are accurate and reflect reality.
What you will be doing - Monitor automated routing rules to ensure data moves between the fintech client's internal systems correctly.
- Identify and document specific points of friction where manual intervention is currently required in the daily workflow.
- Read system logs to trace the specific cause of failed reconciliations or data mismatches.
- Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) as the team finds better ways to handle recurring data issues.
- Assist in the cleanup of existing backlogs within the client database to ensure data integrity is maintained.
- Coordinate with the technical team to test new routing rules or integration updates before they go live in production.
- Perform daily checks on scheduled reporting tasks to verify that all data has reconciled as expected.
- Flag recurring errors to our architects so we can build permanent technical fixes.
What we need from you - A clear and logical approach to solving problems: you should enjoy finding out exactly why a process failed.
- Strong written communication skills for documenting technical steps and updating internal manuals for other operators.
- Fundamental comfort with spreadsheets: you should know how to use basic formulas to compare and organize data.
- A habit of staying organized: you can manage multiple small tasks without losing track of the details.
- Willingness to learn how data structures and simple technical integrations function behind the scenes.
- Professionalism and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- High attention to detail: especially when checking long lists of numbers or transaction records.
Helpful background - Exposure to financial technology or banking operations through internships or university coursework.
- Basic familiarity with SQL or a desire to learn how to write simple queries to pull information from a database.
- Previous experience in any role that required high accuracy and repetitive checks: such as administrative support or data entry.
What the role offers - Direct experience working on the practical problems of a regional financial technology group.
- A fully remote work arrangement that allows you to manage your day without a commute.
- A path to learn technical operations skills that are in high demand across the fintech industry.
- Continuous feedback and mentorship from operators who value clarity and documentation.
- A permanent, full-time position with pay that is competitive for the entry-level market.
- Access to the tools and training needed to understand how modern data pipelines are built and maintained.
Working at Tech Pipeline
We are a company of operators who value work that survives the first month of live operation. At Tech Pipeline, we do not spend our time in long strategy sessions: we spend it looking at how work actually moves through a system. We rely heavily on asynchronous communication: which means we write things down clearly so others can read and act on them later. Because we are a remote team, documentation is our primary way of staying focused on the job. We focus on getting the job done well so that eventually, our clients can handle their operations on their own. You will find that we appreciate clarity: directness: and a quiet focus on getting the small details right every single time.
