Environmental Science (M) Sdn. Bhd. is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Chemist to join our laboratory team at our Penang branch. This role is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, and providing technical leadership to support accurate and reliable laboratory testing.

Salary Range: RM3,500 - RM4,500

Location: Bukit Mertajam

Qualification: Minimum Degree in Chemistry.

• Registered IKM member is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience in ICP-OES, GC, UV and laboratory operations.
• Hands-on experience in ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality management system is required.
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions within the scope of work.
• Proactive in obtaining relevant information, communicating effectively with clients, and resolving technical issues.
• Leadership experience will be an added advantage.

Job Description:

• To oversee laboratory analyses and ensure testing activities are carried out accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
• To review and verify analytical results and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and laboratory quality standards.
• To supervise and provide technical guidance to Chemists and Laboratory Technicians, including troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• To oversee maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with laboratory procedures.
• To plan, monitor inventory and ensure timely replenishment of laboratory consumables.
• To assist the Laboratory Manager in method validation, laboratory improvement initiatives and audit preparations.
