Project Description

Our client, a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices across 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, is looking for experienced Consultants to join its Technology and Operations team.

The Technology and Operations function comprises five specialist teams with distinct capabilities in business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support services. These teams work closely together to harness technology in supporting both physical and digital banking services while developing, centralizing, and standardizing technology platforms and banking operations across Malaysia and overseas branches.

With more than 80 years of banking history, the client is expanding its technology footprint in Malaysia. The successful candidate will be based at a newly established Technology Centre in Kuala Lumpur, contributing to innovative financial technology solutions that drive business growth and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

1. ETL Development

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from multiple source systems.
• Develop reusable ETL components and mappings.

2. Data Warehouse Support

• Support and maintain Global Data Warehouse (GDW) systems.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and availability.
• Support system enhancements and change requests.

3. Database & Data Handling

• Write and optimize SQL queries for Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation.
• Handle large volumes of structured data.

4. Performance Optimization

• Optimize ETL jobs to improve performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in ETL processes and database queries.

5. Testing & Deployment

• Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate data accuracy and transformation logic.
• Support deployment and release activities.

6. Production Support

• Provide Level 2 (L2) Production Support for ETL and Data Warehouse issues.
• Troubleshoot ETL job failures and data discrepancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.

Mandatory Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in ETL and Data Warehouse development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica ETL.
• Good experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Experience with Shell Scripting.
• Working knowledge of operating systems, including:
• AS400
• Linux
• Windows
• Good understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, including:
• ETL processes
• Data modeling
• Data flows
• Experience working within the Banking domain.
