HR Business Partner – Manufacturing Operations

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading multinational organisation in the manufacturing sector, is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join their team. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur, offering the chance to work closely with plant operations and make a tangible impact on the ground.

This role suits an HR professional who thrives outside the office — someone energised by spending time on the factory floor, building relationships with frontline teams, and understanding the business from the inside out.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as a trusted strategic partner to business leaders, translating people priorities into practical solutions that drive real organisational impact
  • Own the full HR Business Partner remit — from talent management and workforce planning to performance, employee relations, and organisational development
  • Champion employee engagement and culture initiatives that keep teams motivated, connected, and performing at their best
  • Advise and coach leaders on talent strategy, succession planning, and building high-performing teams
  • Lead or support key HR projects such as restructuring, change management, and policy development
  • Use people data and insights to influence decisions and shape a stronger workforce strategy
  • Build strong, credible relationships with production employees, supervisors, and plant leaders — getting close to the business by spending regular time on the production floor
  • Manage HR matters relating to the foreign workforce population
  • Travel periodically to manufacturing plants across Malaysia, bringing HR support directly to where the action happens
  • Serve as the go-to HR partner for manufacturing operations, with the autonomy to shape how HR shows up on the ground

What We're Looking For

  • Solid HR Business Partner experience
  • Background in manufacturing, construction, logistics, transportation, or warehousing with strong operational HR exposure will be highly preferred
  • Prior experience managing foreign worker matters
  • Willingness to travel to plant locations
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor
  • Mandarin speaking capability will be an advantage.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive remuneration package
  • The opportunity to be a genuine strategic partner to manufacturing operations, not a desk-bound HR function
  • Exposure to a large-scale, multinational manufacturing environment
  • A high-impact, highly visible role reporting into senior HR leadership
