Job Description

Responsibilities

Dava Pte Ltd — Specialist for service excellence in dry bulk shipping since 1999. We are experts across Handysize to Ultramax tonnage, delivering worldwide dry bulk shipping with the finest service one can depend on. Our team brings together experienced shipping professionals, including former seafarers, combining hands-on sea-going knowledge with commercial operational expertise.

We are looking for highly motivated candidates with strong numerical and analytical skills, who think and act like owners and are ready to take on challenges and responsibility.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing Operations — Coordinate and monitor all aspects of shipping operations, liaising with stakeholders including port agents, vessel masters, bunker suppliers, weather-routing providers, brokers and insurers, to ensure smooth execution of each voyage.
  • Operational Optimization — Optimise voyage execution to protect and maximise net margin, minimising cost and loss and adding value to the business.
  • Documentation — Prepare and manage documentation across counterparties, and support the Chartering Desk in verifying and checking requested information.
  • Voyage Economics — Calculate voyage costs including freight/hire, laytime, demurrage and despatch, and work with Finance to review and verify payment documents.
  • Technical Coordination — Work with the technical/management team to address and resolve vessel-related issues.
  • Additional Duties — Take on other tasks as assigned, as is common in a dynamic shipping environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant shipping/operations experience; fresh graduates and former seafarers seeking a shore-based role are welcome to apply.
  • Proficiency with voyage management / shipping operations software and general maritime-related software; comfortable working across digital voyage and documentation systems.
  • Working knowledge of vessel operations, laytime and demurrage handling, and charter party terms.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a genuine team player.
  • Results-driven, with strong problem-solving instincts and cost awareness.
  • Well-organised and structured, able to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Good written and spoken English.

We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
