Manager, Customs Brokerage, JHB
For a logistics-focused organization based in Gelang Patah, Johor Darul Ta’zim, Adecco is recruiting a Manager, Customs Brokerage to oversee branch affairs related to Customs Brokerage products and the customs process. In this role, you will be responsible for managing operational performance in line with defined productivity targets, ensuring that the right resources and skills are in place across the customs brokerage organization. You will report to the General Manager and work closely with branch leadership to drive effective resource planning, performance management, and change management initiatives. The position requires a strong focus on operational standards, risk evaluation, contingency planning, and continuous improvement within branch operations.
What You Will Do?
- Oversee branch affairs relating to Customs Brokerage products and the customs process, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and operational requirements.
- Drive effective and future-oriented resource planning within the customs brokerage organization, placing the right people into appropriate roles according to productivity targets.
- Manage and monitor productivity KPIs against the budget, initiating corrective actions where necessary to maintain performance and operational efficiency.
- Optimize and implement operational standards and guidelines for branch operations, consistently driving continuous improvement in service quality and productivity.
- Monitor operational performance, including equipment, sub-contractors, productivity, quality of service, data, and incident handling, and implement and control corrective actions, escalating issues to superiors when required.
- Evaluate and monitor operational risks, ensure appropriate contingency planning is in place, and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Report any incidents to the superior in a timely manner and carry out any other job-related tasks assigned by the superior.
- Support branch Commercial activities by attending customer meetings as required, contributing operational insights to support customer requirements and branch objectives.
Your Skills
- Degree, Diploma, or SPM in Business Administration, economics, marketing, or logistics is preferred, demonstrating a relevant educational background for customs brokerage management.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience is preferred, reflecting the need to effectively lead teams and oversee branch operations.
- Strong communication skills are required to interact with internal stakeholders, customers, and sub-contractors in a clear and professional manner.
- Effective presentation skills are necessary to convey operational performance, standards, and improvement plans to superiors and team members.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills are needed to manage relationships with customers and sub-contractors while balancing operational and budgetary requirements.
- Proven interpersonal skills are essential to coach and support team leaders, foster collaboration, and manage change within the branch organization.
- Ability to manage productivity KPIs, operational standards, and corrective actions is required to maintain consistent achievement of customer requirements.
