Z-waka is a Singapore-headquartered digital healthcare education and engagement platform focused on supporting healthcare professionals across Southeast Asia through CME/CPD programs, medical education, HCP engagement, digital learning, and partnerships with healthcare organizations, medical societies, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and development-sector partners.

We are expanding in Malaysia, and we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing regional team.

This is a Kuala Lumpur–based, full-time position for someone who is passionate about healthcare, relationship building, medical education, and developing new markets.

As one of the early members of our Malaysia team, you will play an important role in establishing Z-waka’s local presence and building relationships across the Malaysian healthcare ecosystem.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building partnerships with medical societies, hospitals, universities, professional associations, and other healthcare organisations.
• Developing relationships with KOLs and healthcare experts across different therapeutic areas.
• Understanding clients’ medical education, HCP engagement, and commercial priorities.
• Supporting client meetings, proposals, programme concepts, and follow-up.
• Working closely with Z-waka’s regional business development, partnership, medical, content, and operations teams.
• Supporting Z-waka’s early market-entry and growth activities in Malaysia.

You may be a strong fit if you have:

• Experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical education, digital health, medical communications, or healthcare partnerships.
• A strong network or understanding of the Malaysian healthcare ecosystem.
• Experience working with medical societies, hospitals, KOLs, pharmaceutical companies, or healthcare organisations.
• Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
• A proactive and commercially minded approach.
• The ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving startup environment.
• A healthcare, medical, pharmacy, life-sciences, public-health, business, or related background.

This role is particularly suitable for someone who enjoys building something from the early stage and wants to grow into a broader leadership role as Z-waka Malaysia develops.
