POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of our Malaysia entities. The incumbent will lead all accounting and financial functions for the company’s Malaysia operations. This role is responsible for strategic financial planning, cost control, compliance, and overall business financial performance, while also overseeing other operations such as procurement and legal compliance. The position requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of accounting and finance.
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with local FRS and group IFRS/US GAAP requirements, tax regulations and internal policies.
- Prepare insightful financial reports and dashboards to support strategic decisions.
- Implement robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
- Support management with financial insights for decision making.
3. Cash Flow and Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimise working capital.
- Oversee banking relationships and ensure efficient treasury operations.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all Malaysia tax regulations, including SST, WHT, corporate income tax, and customs duties.
- Liaise with external tax consultants and auditors for tax filings and audits.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting business operations.
5. Procurement & Inventory Oversight
- Drive cost-effective procurement strategies and vendor negotiations.
- Maintain strong inventory controls and optimise working capital.
- Oversee import/export compliance and customs documentation.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Mentor and develop the Finance Team to ensure high performance and capability development.
- Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial guidance.
- Advise Senior Management on strategic matters such as financial risks, investment analysis, and long-term planning.
- Build strong relationships with banks, auditors, legal advisors, government institutions, and headquarters or regional offices.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CA, or CMA preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive financial experience
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia tax law and compliance.
- ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle).
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and advanced spreadsheet skills for financial modelling and analysis.
- Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
