Key responsibilities

People leadership & development

· Lead, coach and develop three team leads and their teams, building a genuinely high-performing division.

· Set clear individual objectives, run regular performance reviews, and drive structured development plans.

· Address underperformance constructively and fairly through structured improvement plans where required.

Review, controls & quality

· Own the maker/checker discipline across accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger for all entities.

· Review and sign off month-end close, reconciliations and key journals, catching errors before close.

· Establish and enforce accounting controls, policies and standard operating procedures across the division.

· Act as the senior escalation point for complex accounting and process issues.

Systems & process

· Identify system issues, gaps and improvement opportunities across the finance systems — NetSuite (Malaysia) and Xero (Singapore and Thailand) — and work with the Account Lead, IT and relevant parties to resolve and enhance them.

· Drive automation and continuous improvement of accounting workflows.

· Convert undocumented, tacit knowledge into repeatable, documented process.

Financial operations & close

· Ensure timely, accurate month-end and year-end close across all entities.

· Oversee AP, AR, GL, intercompany, multi-currency and consolidation activities.

· Support cash flow management, tax and statutory reporting alongside the relevant leads.

Compliance, audit & strategy

· Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax and e-invoicing requirements across Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

· Support internal and external audits, including inventory and asset audits.

· Partner with the Account Lead on division strategy, structure and resourcing.

· Assess the accounting impact of operational and system changes, such as front-end operations migrations.

What success looks like (first 6–12 months)

· You are the trusted senior reviewer and escalation point — accuracy improves without the Account Lead needing to check.

· System issues are surfaced early and worked through together with the Account Lead, IT and relevant parties, rather than left to linger.

· Team leads are developing measurably, and coverage is resilient to any individual’s absence.

· Key processes and system knowledge are documented and no longer dependent on one person.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
