AIXTRON’s new manufacturing & engineering hub in Malaysia
We are building a new greenfield manufacturing and engineering hub in Batu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & test of our high-end systems and will contribute to engineering the next generation of products. Operations are planned to start in 2027 with rapid ramp-up. Responsibilities
Warehouse Operation & Material Flow
- Supervise daily receiving of raw materials, packaging, and components; verify quantities against delivery orders / PO.
- Ensure proper put‑away, binning, and labeling following FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Ensure execution of timely material issuance in line with production requirements.
- Oversee picking, packing, and staging of finished goods for outbound shipments.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety (5S / lean standards).
Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
- Execute daily cycle counts; investigate and reconcile count discrepancies.
- Prevent recurrence of inventory errors through process improvements.
- Support monthly / annual physical inventory; prepare counting sheets and supervise counting teams.
- Ensure all inventory movements (receipts, issues, transfers, scrap) are reported on time.
- Ensure bonded inventory is accurately separated from non-bonded inventory in the warehouse.
- Report slow‑moving, obsolete, or damaged stock to the manager.
Systems & Documentation
- Perform and verify SAP transactions (goods receipt, goods issue, transfer posting).
- Maintain accurate bin location records and update WMS as needed.
- Prepare daily warehouse reports (receipts, shipments, inventory movement) as assigned.
- Act as first-level support for warehouse system issues and escalate when required.
- Assist in LMW compliance by ensuring accurate recording of dutiable / duty‑free material movements.
Safety & Equipment
- Enforce safe use of forklifts, reach trucks, and material handling equipment.
- Schedule routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment; report defects.
- Ensure all staff wear proper PPE and follow warehouse safety rules.
- Participate in safety audits and corrective action plans.
Team Supervision
- Directly lead, schedule, and assign tasks to material handlers.
- Monitor attendance, performance, and discipline.
- Train new hires in standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety, and system transactions if applicable.
- Provide input to the Operational Logistics Manager for performance appraisals and staff development.
Qualifications And Skills Required
- Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3–5 years in warehouse operations within a Malaysian manufacturing environment, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Familiarity with LMW bonded warehouse requirements and customs record keeping.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP/WMS and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to operate forklift / reach truck (valid certification is an advantage).
- Attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a shift environment.
- Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia.
Working Conditions & Environment
- Role based at AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
- Majority of the work is at Batu Kawan site; work at Kulim site will be requested as needed.
- Shift works might be required according to production shifts.
- This role will require a reasonable amount of hands-on physical work, including rack & stack , and movement of material (where practical and safe to do so)
