The Shared Services Manager will lead the Shared Accounting Services (SAS) team with full ownership of end-to-end finance processes and service delivery to the business, particularly the ANZ finance team.
This role is responsible for building a high-performing, service-oriented SAS, ensuring operational excellence, process standardisation, and continuous improvement. The incumbent will act as a key bridge between the Malaysia SAS and regional stakeholders, driving alignment, accountability, and strong service outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the key liaison between the ANZ finance team and the SAS, ensuring alignment of priorities, clear communication, and effective service delivery.
- Lead, manage, and develop the SAS team, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture.
- Build team capability through coaching, training, and succession planning, ensuring strong technical and process knowledge across all functions.
- Take full ownership of end-to-end finance processes (AP, AR, GL, reporting), ensuring standardisation, proper documentation, and continuous optimisation.
- Drive a strong service-oriented culture, ensuring responsiveness, reliability, and quality support to business stakeholders.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Lead process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability of the SAS.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs) to track performance and service delivery effectiveness.
- Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to resolve complex issues and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure smooth and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Lead audit engagements (internal and external) and ensure strong internal controls and compliance frameworks are in place.
- Partner with HR, IT, and other stakeholders on system enhancements, finance transformation initiatives, and capability building programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably within a shared services or multinational environment.
- Proven experience in leading teams, managing performance, and driving operational excellence in a shared services setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of finance processes, accounting standards, statutory compliance, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as JD Edwards, D365, and Hyperion/EPM, along with strong Excel capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
