Job Purpose
To support accurate financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, taxation, and internal controls for assigned companies, while providing timely financial insights to support management decision making.
Job Responsibilities
Financial
- Responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly management accounts, Group submissions and financial statements, ensuring quality and accurate management financial reports are produced within the stipulated timelines.
- Prepare/Review monthly reconciliations including timely clearance of reconciling items and general accounting processes
- Attend to financial queries from other departments for assigned township
- Participate in township meetings to update on the latest developments and provide financial input to enhance the feasibility of the product
- Review budget costing for ongoing and completed phases - to identify and accrue cost overrun or adjust for any cost saving
Taxation
- Prepare/Review and ensure timely submission of annual tax computation and tax returns, tax estimation, SST and other tax matters
- Review corporate tax computations and supporting schedules for submission through the Malaysia Income Tax Reporting System (MITRS), ensuring compliance with LHDN requirements
Audit
- Liaise with auditors and be responsible for preparing/reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with MFRS and other applicable standards
- Prepare/Review of statutory accounts for accuracy and completeness and attend to statutory audit issues
- Review annual financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with MBRS (Malaysia Business Reporting System) requirements prior to submission
Annual Operating Plan (Budgeting)/Forecast
- Responsible for preparing/reviewing the Annual Operating Plan / forecast to be set as the measurement tool against current achievement to enhance quality of decision making
Internal Control/System Improvement
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Group policies and procedures and recommend areas for improvement
- Participate in automation and digitalization initiatives relating to financial reporting and planning function
People and communication
- Coach and guide subordinates in all financial matters
Educational/Professional Qualification
Degree in Accounting or equivalent, preferably with professional membership
Additional Requirement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Proficient in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g. IFCA, BPC)
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail, hands-on and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must have property development industry experience (at least 4 to 6 years)
