Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide first and second-line technical support for Windows Server, virtualization, networking, and Microsoft infrastructure environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 3 engineers while providing accurate troubleshooting information and documentation.
  • Support administration of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and user administration.
  • Perform routine server health checks, patching, upgrades, backups, and maintenance activities.
  • Support Hyper-V virtual machines and assist with virtualization administration.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of incidents, changes, procedures, and technical solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and customers, providing regular updates throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Assist in monitoring infrastructure performance and identifying potential issues before they impact production.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Follow ITIL-based Incident, Request, Change, and Problem Management processes.


Essential Skills & Experience


  • 2–5 years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows infrastructure environments.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server (2016–2022/2025).
  • Experience supporting:
  • Active Directory Domain Services
  • Group Policy
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • File & Print Services
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Hyper-V virtualization.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows Server operating systems and Microsoft infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with server hardware, storage, networking, and virtualization concepts.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and SLA-based support environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document technical procedures clearly.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Exposure to VMware (vSphere/ESXi, vCenter).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Failover Clustering.
  • Experience with Windows Server patching and upgrades.
  • Exposure to Microsoft System Center products such as SCCM/MECM, SCOM, or VMM.
  • Basic PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure administration.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing fundamentals).
  • Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, DPM, or similar).
  • Exposure to SAN storage and Fibre Channel environments.
  • Basic Linux administration knowledge.
  • Experience working within ITIL-based service management environments.


Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • CompTIA Server+
  • VMware VCP (preferred)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
