About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of finance operations, technical accounting, and financial governance within a multinational, project-based engineering/industrial environment. This is a senior individual contributor role, ideal for a finance professional who operates independently, makes sound judgment calls, and can defend accounting positions with confidence and technical rigor.
The successful candidate will serve as a key partner to the Head of Finance, ensuring the integrity, control, and effectiveness of the finance function, while also playing an active role in an upcoming ERP implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own month-end and year-end close processes and outcomes
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of statutory and management reporting in line with FRS/SFRS standards, with reconciliation to US GAAP
- Review financial statements and reporting packages prepared by the team, acting as final reviewer and quality gatekeeper prior to submission to the Head of Finance
- Own end-to-end finance operations, including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, accruals, and reconciliations
- Resolve operational and accounting issues independently, driving consistency, discipline, and quality across finance deliverables
- Support SOX and internal audit reviews, ensuring timely remediation of findings
- Identify control gaps and execution risks, and drive resolution, maintaining and strengthening internal controls in line with Group frameworks
- Act as technical accounting lead for the entity, leading external audit end-to-end and serving as primary point of contact for auditors
- Oversee GST submissions, withholding tax, and corporate tax returns, including ownership of current and deferred tax computations
- Support transfer pricing documentation and coordinate with tax advisors and company secretaries
- Provide accurate, analytically robust management reporting to support forecasting and budgeting
- Own data quality and integrity in Group reporting packs, ensuring transparent trend reporting to US HQ
- Monitor receivables, working capital, and multi-currency cash flow positions
- Support treasury activities, including foreign currency exposure and guarantees
- Represent Finance in ERP process design, data validation, and control requirements, including fit-gap analysis, system configuration reviews, and UAT
- Ensure chart of accounts structure and reporting requirements are properly embedded in system design
- Support post-implementation stabilization to ensure finance processes operate effectively in the new system
Key Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance, or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA Australia, or equivalent)
- Approximately 10–12 years of relevant finance experience, including end-to-end finance operations, statutory reporting, and audit within multinational engineering, industrial, or project-based organizations
- Exposure to multi-currency transactions and group reporting environments
- Strong technical accounting background (IFRS/SFRS), with the ability to handle judgments and estimates
- Hands-on experience with project accounting, long-term contracts, or complex delivery models
- Solid working knowledge of corporate taxation, including current and deferred tax
- Experience with SOX or structured control environments is advantageous
- Hands-on ERP implementation experience (SAP preferred), including finance process design, fit-gap analysis, and UAT
- Ability to operate independently with minimal escalation
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel; Power BI is an advantage
