Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities – Environmental Officer


The Employee shall be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining environmental compliance throughout the project to ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with applicable environmental regulations, client requirements, and the Company's Environmental Management System (EMS).


The Employee's duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, regulations, client environmental requirements, and Company policies.


  • Conduct routine environmental inspections and audits at the project site to identify environmental risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.


  • Monitor environmental aspects of construction activities, including:

- Waste segregation, storage, and disposal.

- Scheduled waste management.

- Dust, noise, vibration, and air pollution control.

- Water pollution prevention and drainage protection.

- Spill prevention and chemical storage.

- Housekeeping and environmental cleanliness.


  • Monitor environmental controls for electrical construction activities, including:

- Cable installation works.

- Cable tray and trunking installation.

- Equipment installation.

- Welding, drilling, and cutting activities.

- Material storage and handling.

- Temporary facilities and laydown areas.


  • Ensure proper implementation of erosion and sediment control measures where applicable.


  • Conduct environmental toolbox briefings and awareness programmes for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel.


  • Investigate environmental incidents, complaints, spills, or non-compliance cases and recommend corrective actions.


  • Prepare and maintain environmental reports, inspection records, permits, waste disposal records, monitoring reports, and other environmental documentation required by the Company, clients, and relevant authorities.


  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on environmental matters during inspections, audits, and project meetings.


  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of the Company's Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), sustainability initiatives, and ESG objectives where applicable.


  • Coordinate with the Safety & Health team to ensure environmental, health, and safety requirements are effectively integrated into daily construction activities.


  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.
