MANDATORY SCREENING CRITERIA
- Software: Advanced, hands-on mastery of Primavera P6 is strictly mandatory. Candidates with experience limited to MS Project or Excel will not be shortlisted.
- Industry Sector: Minimum 5 years of dedicated engineering planning experience within the Offshore Oil & Gas, FPSO, or Marine Energy sectors. Civil engineering or building construction backgrounds are not applicable for this role.
- Certifications: Must possess, or be fully eligible to clear, valid BOSIET (OPITO approved) and OGUK/OEUK medical examinations for offshore deployment.
Job Summary
The Planning Engineer (Offshore / P6) will lead the technical schedule development, logic verification, and progress measurement for regional offshore assets. Operating within our Singapore engineering hub, this role goes beyond data entry to apply sound engineering principles—ensuring that multi-million dollar offshore execution networks accurately account for marine logistics, monsoon windows, and strict Personnel on Board (POB) bed-space constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Development: Own, build, and maintain Level 1 to Level 4 integrated project schedules in Primavera P6, ensuring robust database logic and code mapping.
- Technical Logic Verification: Review engineering drawings (P&IDs, Isometrics) and fabrication sequences to validate that the contractor’s schedule logic is technically feasible.
- Progress & Productivity Tracking: Physically verify construction and engineering milestones to calculate earned value, generate S-curves, and monitor labor productivity histograms.
- Interface Management: Audit and merge independent schedules from fabrication yards, hook-up & commissioning (HUC) subcontractors, and marine vessel providers into a single master network.
- Risk & Delay Analysis: Perform critical path analysis and Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to identify early warning signs of delays and formulate engineering recovery plans.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Marine, Structural, Civil, or Chemical) recognized by professional bodies.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Planning Engineer specifically within upstream Oil & Gas, FPSO topsides, or offshore marine environments.
- Technical Skills: Expert competency in Primavera P6 (global changes, resource leveling, and layout customization). Advanced MS Excel skills for data synthesis are required.
- Mobility: Fully cleared and willing to travel offshore via chopper or vessel to platforms or construction barges for field validation when required.
- Communication: Excellent professional command of English to interface effectively with Singapore-based engineering leads and offshore construction superintendents.
