Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Electrical / Project Engineer with 2–4 years of hands-on experience to support the design, execution, and commissioning of electrical systems across our projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, site teams, and clients to ensure electrical works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical standards and specifications. This role suits an engineer who has moved beyond entry-level tasks and is ready to take ownership of engineering deliverables and coordinate directly with contractors, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review electrical engineering deliverables — single line diagrams, load schedules, cable schedules, panel layouts, and P&ID/electrical interface drawings.
- Support project planning by developing schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource/material plans for electrical scopes.
- Coordinate with procurement to prepare technical specifications, review vendor quotations, and support material/equipment selection (switchgear, transformers, MCCs, cables, motors, UPS, etc.).
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and ensure design intent is met on site.
- Monitor site installation, testing, and commissioning activities to verify compliance with drawings, codes (IEC/NEC/local authority requirements), and project specifications.
- Track project progress, prepare progress reports, and flag schedule or cost deviations to the Project Manager.
- Support preparation of RFIs, method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and technical submittals.
- Assist in HSE compliance on site, ensuring electrical works follow safe work practices and permit-to-work systems.
- Participate in FAT/SAT, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, and support handover documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, instrumentation) to resolve interface issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant working experience as an Electrical Engineer / Project Engineer, ideally in construction, EPC, oil & gas, power, or industrial/manufacturing projects.
- Working knowledge of electrical design principles, low/medium voltage systems, and relevant codes and standards (IEC, NEC, or local equivalents).
- Familiarity with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of project management principles — scheduling, cost tracking, and progress reporting.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Willingness to travel to project/construction sites as required.
- Registered as a Graduate Engineer with BEM, or actively working towards Professional Engineer (PE) status, is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to project cost control, procurement, or contract administration.
- Prior experience with site supervision, testing and commissioning, or client-facing coordination.
- Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6 for schedule tracking.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus allowances for site assignments.
- Opportunities for career progression into senior engineering or project management roles.
- Exposure to diverse projects and hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle.
- Training and support toward professional certification (e.g., PE / Chartered Engineer status).
