We are seeking a capable and motivated Assistant Accountant (Corporate Services) to join our Corporate Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals seeking broad exposure to corporate governance, taxation, statutory compliance, Board administration, and financial reporting within a Bursa Malaysia listed environment.
Working closely with senior management, external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, legal advisers, and regulatory authorities, you will play an important role in ensuring the Company maintains the highest standards of corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Liase with Company Secretary and manage corporate secretarial matters in compliance with the Companies Act 2016 and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate and ensure timely submission of corporate announcements and regulatory disclosures to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
- Assist in the planning and administration of Board of Directors' meetings, Board Committee meetings, and shareholders' meetings.
- Support the preparation of Board papers, meeting materials, minutes, and statutory documentation.
- Assist in the annual statutory audit, including the preparation of the Annual Report and supporting schedules.
- Ensure timely compliance with corporate tax obligations, including tax estimates, tax returns, tax payments, tax refunds, and monitoring changes to Malaysian tax legislation.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Transfer Pricing documentation.
- Support tax planning initiatives to improve the Company's tax efficiency.
- Liaise with financial institutions on existing and new banking facilities.
- Assist in Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AMLA/CFT) compliance and reporting.
- Provide administrative and coordination support on legal, regulatory, and corporate governance matters.
- Undertake other corporate services and finance-related responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a recognised professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a listed company, public accounting firm, corporate services environment, or multinational corporation.
- Good knowledge of the Companies Act 2016, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, Malaysian Income Tax Act, and other relevant statutory regulations.
- Experience in taxation and Transfer Pricing documentation will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous, proactive, and able to manage multiple assignments independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
