Job Description

Responsibilities

Adecco's client is seeking a Project Logistics Specialist to support end-to-end project logistics operations, ensuring the efficient coordination of import and export shipments while delivering excellent customer service. This role is responsible for managing shipment documentation, coordinating with carriers, contractors, overseas agents, and customers, monitoring shipment progress, and ensuring timely execution of freight operations. The Project Specialist will also support business development opportunities through rate sourcing, overseas enquiries, and service enhancements while maintaining compliance with operational procedures and financial requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end project shipments, ensuring timely and accurate execution of import and export operations.
  • Source competitive freight rates from carriers and service providers while identifying potential business opportunities.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain all shipment documentation in accordance with company procedures and shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate shipment collections and deliveries with contractors, shipping lines, co-loaders, and other logistics partners to meet operational deadlines.
  • Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure Cash-on-Delivery (COD) payments are collected prior to the release of Bills of Lading or cargo delivery.
  • Respond promptly to operational enquiries and resolve shipment-related issues in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all job files are completed accurately and closed promptly to support month-end financial closing.
  • Follow up on enquiries and sales leads received from overseas offices and global agents.
  • Support the implementation of new logistics services and groupage operations as directed by management.
  • Review vendor invoices to ensure they align with approved quotations and reject any discrepancies or non-compliant charges.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and quality standards while supporting continuous process improvements.


Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Professional certification in Transport or Logistics will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding, project logistics, shipping, or related logistics operations.
  • Experience handling import and export documentation and coordinating international shipments.
  • Good understanding of shipping procedures, freight carriers, contractors, and logistics operations.
  • Strong coordination, organisational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
