Trading Operations Associate
Location: Tanjong Pagar
Working Days: Monday – Friday (5 days)
Working Hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Salary: S$3,500 – S$6,000
Key Responsibilities
- Keep an accurate understanding and ensure the correct application of commodity contracts and contractual obligations.
- Negotiate contract terms with miners and external customers and align internally to facilitate contract signing.
- Plan and execute shipments in accordance with commodity contracts.
- Accurately interpret contract terms and execute payments/receivables, including Letters of Credit (LC), DP/DA, and other payment methods, in accordance with contractual terms.
- Assist in cargo planning, including vessel nomination, shipping advice, insurance declaration, discharge port agent appointment, and loading/discharge operations.
- Manage shipping documents and payments, ensuring accurate invoices and shipping documents are issued by miners.
- Issue provisional, preliminary final, and final invoices in a timely manner according to contractual terms.
- Handle AR/AP settlements, including laytime, freight differentials, and other related matters.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers while proactively identifying opportunities and highlighting potential risks or exposures.
- Liaise with various departments, including Commercial, Risk, Finance, and Shipping, to resolve operational issues.
- Recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness and productivity of trade execution processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in International Trade, Maritime Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Logistics, Business Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Must have experience handling LC and shipment
- Experience with iron ore products is required
