AI Security Engineer

6 Month Contract - Extension / Transition to Permanent planned

Hybrid - 60% Onsite 40% Remote

Sentinel is working with a major global technology and construction provider to recruit an experienced AI Security Engineer to join a team at the forefront of securing enterprise AI solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with emerging Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies, evaluating cutting-edge security products, conducting hands-on technical PoCs, and helping shape the future adoption of AI security controls across a large-scale enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting technical PoCs to evaluate AI security technologies and vendor solutions.

• Assessing security products and validating technical capabilities.

• Identifying security risks across AI, web applications, APIs and cloud environments.

• Producing clear technical findings, risks and recommendations.

• Providing security architecture and integration guidance.

• Using scripting and automation to support testing and technical assessments.

Required experience:

• 5+ years' experience in Security Engineering, Application Security, Cloud Security or Security Architecture.

• Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, AI security threats, web application security, API security and cloud-native security.

• Experience conducting security product evaluations, technical PoCs and technology assessments.

• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar.

• Ability to work independently and deliver technical outcomes with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

• Experience securing AI or GenAI applications.

• Knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications.

• Experience with technologies such as Akamai, Zscaler, Cloudflare, F5 or Palo Alto Networks.

• Relevant certifications including CISSP, GIAC, Azure Security Engineer or AWS Security Specialty.

NB:- The role will initially be engaged on an external basis, requiring you to work as an independent / self-employed contractor through either a sole proprietorship or personal service/limited company. The plan is to transition to a permanent, employed position after the initial contract term.
