Job Description

Responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for coordinate and execute the purchasing transactions, and interpret purchasing procedures to departments and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily buyer responsibilities including PO placement, PO confirmation, RFQs (Request for Quotations) and rescheduling activities to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Coordinating with both overseas & local suppliers to resolve purchase-related matters, monitor shipment status and update the arrival dates in the system.
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, and production planning to ensure seamless operations.
  • Drive cost-efficiency to achieve cost saving while maintaining quality standards and ensure timely delivery across all procurement activities.
  • Conduct market research to Identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and reliability
  • Evaluate and appraise suppliers for machine components, materials, and procurement products from both local and overseas sources.
  • Apply strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, shorten the lead time and ensure on time delivery.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production demands.
  • Communicate proactively and clearly with stakeholders across departments.
  • Prepare weekly purchasing reports detailing procurement activities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Performing any additional ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Purchasing manager.

Pre-requisites:

  • Diploma or degree holder in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 year purchasing experience in contract manufacturing industry, with emphasis on environment of cable, harness, and/or electromechanical assemblies which include mechanical, electronic components.
  • Proficient in MS Office With strong EXCEL skills.
  • Strong negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers.
  • Ability to assess market trends and supplier performance to make strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Experience in cost modelling and ABC costing.
  • Good commercial acumen and understanding of the overall business.
  • Proven ability to lead sourcing strategies and drive COGS reduction across the supply base.
  • Capability to work with cross-functional teams on strategic cost improvement projects.

Pay: $3,400.00 - $4,500.00 per month
