Defond Electrical Industries Limited Hiring! Full Time Manager, Electronic Engineering (Smart Home) in Hong Kong - Ricebowl

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of electronic and control system solutions for smart home products, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, cost, and timeline requirements

• Manage and coach an engineering team covering electronics and related disciplines

• Define and drive system architecture and technical direction

• Work with customers to understand product and application requirements in the smart home sector, and translate them into practical engineering solutions

• Act as the engineering focal point throughout product development stages, from concept to production

• Coordinate across engineering functions (e.g. mechanical, electronics, control) to resolve technical issues

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Project Management, Sourcing, and Manufacturing

• Ensure product designs comply with relevant regulatory and safety standards for smart home products

• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and design practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines

• Progressive 10+ years’ experience in electronics/ multifunctional modules EE+ SW product design and development, preferably related to major appliances.

• Solid experience in electronics design and system integration

• Experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration

• Familiar with product development processes and manufacturing considerations (e.g. DFX, PFMEA)

• Knowledge of smart home appliance standards and compliance requirements is an advantage

• Experience working with overseas customers

• Good command of written and spoken English

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive working attitude
