Smartlink Engineering Sdn Bhd is a growing manufacturing company specializing in precision engineering solutions for the semiconductor and high-technology industries. We support customers through our expertise in tooling, machining, box-built assemblies, control panels, and customized engineering solutions.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager (Tool Shop Manager) to lead our Tool Shop operations and drive operational excellence in supporting our growing business.

Job Summary

The Operations Manager (Tool Shop Manager) will be responsible for managing the overall Tool Shop operations, ensuring efficient production activities, optimizing resources, maintaining quality standards, and achieving delivery commitments. The role requires strong technical knowledge in machining, tooling, and manufacturing processes, together with effective leadership and people management skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tool Shop Operations Management

• Lead and manage daily Tool Shop operations to ensure smooth execution of production activities.
• Plan and monitor production schedules, workflow, manpower allocation, and machine utilization to achieve operational targets.
• Ensure timely completion of tooling, machining, fabrication, modification, and improvement activities.
• Review operational performance and implement improvement actions to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Manufacturing & Technical Excellence

• Provide technical guidance and support on tooling, machining processes, and manufacturing-related issues.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and delivery performance.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with customer requirements, quality standards, and company procedures.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project, Quality, and Production teams to support semiconductor equipment and precision engineering projects.

People & Resource Management

• Lead, coach, and develop Tool Shop team members to enhance technical capability and performance.
• Optimize manpower and resource planning to support business requirements.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Reporting & Improvement Activities

• Monitor key operational performance indicators and provide regular updates to Management.
• Identify risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities within Tool Shop operations.
• Support cost control initiatives and operational efficiency improvements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Tool Shop, Precision Machining, Tooling, Manufacturing Operations, or related industries.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership position.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in:
• CNC machining processes
• Tooling fabrication and modification
• Precision engineering manufacturing
• Production planning and resource management
• Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, automation, or high-precision engineering environment will be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
