ASTAR Management Services is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company operating a modern production plant equipped with various machinery and equipment. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Supplier Development Specialist to support supplier sourcing, procurement, supplier performance management, and supply chain optimization.
Job Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and develop suppliers for core electronic materials such as chips, PCBs, batteries, and other components.
- Conduct supplier qualification, business negotiations, contract management, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers.
- Analyze material pricing trends and implement cost reduction initiatives through negotiation and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and ensure supply continuity.
- Manage incoming material quality, supplier corrective actions, and defective material claims.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with SIRIM, RoHS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in new product material sourcing, supplier qualification, and sample verification.
- Prepare procurement, supplier performance, and supply chain risk reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Electronics Engineering, International Trade, Material Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, supplier development, or supply chain management within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of supplier qualification, procurement processes, and supply chain operations.
- Experience in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and supplier performance management.
- Familiar with SIRIM, RoHS, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Malaysian citizens or Permanent Residents are preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent are an added advantage.
- Experience with Southeast Asia supplier networks and cross-border procurement is preferred.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
