We are looking for an outstanding Surveying Engineer to join our team and contribute to project management, mapping, GIS, and remote sensing. This individual will participate in and drive multi-disciplinary geomatic engineering and GIS tasks associated with drones and geospatial services. This position requires working with a small team and being responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing projects.
Responsibilities
- Undertake aerial/mobile/land/topographic/hydrographic/indoor surveys, using a variety of specialised equipment and technology.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
- Plan and coordinate site work, including permits and documentation. Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with ISO standards and company policies.
- Operate and maintain equipment and tools with prudence.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Extract geographic data from satellite imagery, aerial photography, and field reconnaissance. Create geographic data and compile it into maps.
- Process and analyze data using plans, maps, charts, and software such as GIS programs and photogrammetry.
- Create reports and maps according to client or project requirements, containing information from field measurements, boundary markers and topographical features.
- Collaborate with clients to understand deliverables and with Drone Engineers to manage resources and challenges in the field.
- Prepare proposals and quotations for tenders and clients.
- Travel for site investigations, pilot projects, data acquisitions, flight missions, training, product demonstrations and events.
- Proactive and independent, prioritizing goals and ensuring timely, on-budget project completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as geomatics, GIS, land surveying or remote sensing.
- 2–3 years of experience in surveying or geomatics engineering.
- Experience and skills working with various GIS/Photogrammetry software such as ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, QGIS, and Global Mapper.
- Prior experience with digitizing processes based on the National Geographic Topographic Database Specification and Features and Attribute Codes MS1759:2015 would be an additional advantage.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and accurate exchange of information.
- Strong organizational skills with experience in documentation and coordination, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and timely completion of required tasks.
- Able to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.

Base Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
