Role Description The Halal Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Malaysia, responsible for ensuring that all operations comply with relevant Halal standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring food sourcing, preparation, and handling processes to verify compliance with Halal guidelines, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and records for certification purposes. The role involves coordinating with internal departments, suppliers, and certifying bodies to support audits, renew certifications, and address compliance-related queries. The Halal Executive will conduct regular inspections, staff briefings, and training sessions to promote awareness of Halal practices across the organization. This position also supports continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen Halal compliance and uphold the company’s commitment to quality and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Halal standards, certification procedures, and relevant Malaysian regulations (e.g., JAKIM guidelines).
  • Experience in food safety, quality assurance, or compliance within F&B or related industries.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, audits, and regulatory submissions accurately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and external authorities.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving compliance issues.
  • Ability to conduct training, briefings, and awareness sessions on Halal and food safety practices.
  • Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets) for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Diploma or degree in Food Science, Halal Management, Compliance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a Halal-related role in the hospitality or restaurant sector is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and working collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
