DATA SCIENTIST MANAGER, CREDIT CARD ANALYTICS

• LOCATION: Kuala Lumpur, Near Menara Maxis
• SALARY: Up to RM 20,000 per month

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a major financial services organization, requires two Data Scientist Managers. You will lead analytical workstreams to optimize credit card portfolios. You will translate large scale transaction and customer data into clear business strategies. You will apply advanced analytics and machine learning to help the business make smarter decisions across the card lifecycle. Your work will drive payment volume growth, improve profit margins, and manage risk. Candidates with experience from local banks like Maybank or Hong Leong Bank are highly encouraged to apply.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead analytics for card portfolio optimization across acquisition, activation, usage, retention, fraud, and credit risk.
• Build and deploy statistical models and machine learning solutions to find growth and risk mitigation opportunities.
• Run customer segmentation, lifecycle modeling, and uplift analysis.
• Design test and learn frameworks including control groups, A/B testing, and causal inference.
• Analyze large transaction and behavioral datasets to find actionable insights.
• Clean unstructured data for predictive modeling.
• Improve code for critical business processes.
• Build visual dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.
• Present complex analytical findings to business stakeholders.
• Train business teams to run technical solutions.
• Document all projects and code.
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Risk, Fraud, and Technology teams to apply your strategies.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Master degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics.
• Experience in financial services or retail banking is strongly preferred.
• Solid background in credit card portfolio analytics or customer lifecycle modeling.
• Advanced statistical modeling skills including Regression, Clustering, and Classification.
• Hands on experience with SQL, Hive, Hadoop, Spark, and Python with large datasets.
• Strong understanding of statistical inference, experimental design, causal inference, and time series analysis.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
• Exposure to fraud, credit risk, or payment success optimization.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non technical teams.
• Past consulting or client facing analytics experience is an added advantage.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

• Round 1: One hour coding with one interviewer.
• Round 2: One hour Data Case Study with two interviewers.
• Round 3: 30 minute market team interview.
• Round 4: Final client interview.

Pay: Up to RM20,000.00 per month
