Position: AV Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, and special events.
- Install and test microphones, speakers, projectors, LED screens, video displays, lighting, and sound systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during events to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Coordinate with the Events, Banquet, and Sales teams to meet clients' AV requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of AV equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is stored, handled, and transported safely.
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment and report any damage or repair needs.
- Provide technical support to hotel guests, clients, and event organizers.
- Follow hotel safety procedures and company standards.
- Complete event setup and teardown within scheduled timelines.
Requirements
- Diploma, certificate, or equivalent qualification in Audio Visual, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as an AV Technician or in event technology is an advantage.
- Knowledge of sound systems, projectors, video conferencing, lighting, and presentation equipment.
- Basic understanding of computer systems and networking for AV applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical ability to lift and move AV equipment.

Typical Duties During a Shift
- Review the day's event schedule and AV requirements.
- Set up equipment before events begin.
- Test microphones, speakers, projectors, displays, and internet connectivity.
- Provide on-site technical support throughout events.
- Resolve any technical issues promptly.
- Dismantle, inspect, and store equipment after events.
- Update maintenance records and report equipment faults.
This role is essential to ensuring that meetings and events run smoothly, delivering reliable audio-visual support and a high-quality experience for hotel guests and event organizers.
Pay: RM1,900.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
