Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Takaful Consultant based in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Takaful Consultant will advise prospective and existing clients on suitable takaful and insurance products, explain coverage and benefits, and conduct needs-based assessments. Daily responsibilities include meeting clients in person and online, preparing proposals, handling policy applications, and following up on renewals and inquiries. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in the customer management system, collaborating with colleagues on campaigns, and staying updated on product changes and regulatory requirements. Consultants are expected to uphold Shariah-compliant principles, provide transparent information, and deliver a high standard of customer service.

Qualifications

  • Strong client advisory and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial and insurance concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Sales and relationship management abilities, such as prospecting, building long-term client relationships, and meeting performance targets in a consultative manner.
  • Organizational and administrative skills for managing documentation, tracking applications, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Basic financial literacy and understanding of risk management, insurance, and takaful principles; familiarity with Shariah-compliant financial products is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in commonly used office and customer management software; ability to work effectively in both in-person and remote settings.
  • Previous experience in insurance, takaful, banking, or financial services is beneficial, but motivated entry-level candidates will be considered.
  • Demonstrated integrity, customer focus, and a commitment to ethical business practices.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications in insurance or takaful are an added advantage.
