Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the Group's Sustainability Strategy, ESG roadmap, and Net Zero initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish sustainability governance, policies, reporting frameworks, and ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia requirements and global ESG standards (GRI, ISSB, TCFD, etc.).
  • Lead sustainability initiatives focusing on carbon reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, waste management, circular economy, and resource optimisation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainability improvement projects and responsible sourcing practices.
  • Oversee ESG data collection, carbon accounting (Scope 1, 2 & 3), sustainability reporting, and monitor progress towards decarbonisation targets.
  • Prepare Sustainability Reports and ESG disclosures for management, investors, regulators, and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, coordinate sustainability audits, certifications, and ESG assessments (including EcoVadis).
  • Conduct sustainability risk assessments and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, customers, investors, regulators, and certification bodies on sustainability matters.
  • Foster a culture of sustainability through employee engagement, training, and awareness programmes across the organisation.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of working experience, with 5–10 years in Sustainability, ESG, Compliance, or related functions. Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and reporting standards such as GRI, ISSB, TCFD, with EcoVadis experience being an added advantage.
  • Experience in ESG audits, third-party assessments, carbon accounting, and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Passionate about driving sustainability transformation and creating long-term business value.
