As a Software Engineer, Automation Control, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation control software using C#, WPF, SQL, and Visual Studio, while adopting Agile development methodologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that support advanced automation equipment and manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer and business requirements by analyzing user stories, assessing technical feasibility, proposing solutions, and developing proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Design and develop software solutions by preparing flowcharts, system architecture diagrams, layouts, detailed design documents, specifications, and development standards.
- Interpret technical requirements, identify design parameters, and translate requirements into scalable and maintainable software solutions.
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications in accordance with approved design specifications, coding standards, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of development activities, proactively driving projects and delivering quality results within committed timelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to support software integration, validation, and deployment activities.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge by keeping up to date with emerging technologies, programming techniques, software development tools, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience in a commercial or industrial environment.
- Proficient in: C#; WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation); .NET Framework / .NET; SQL Database Development; Python; Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Strong understanding of: Software architecture and design patterns; Software development lifecycle (SDLC): Coding standards and software engineering best practices; Version control and source code management tools
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Experience leading or mentoring software developers is an added advantage.
- Experience developing automation, industrial control, or manufacturing software systems is preferred.
