I am partnering with one of the world's leading quantitative trading firms to find an exceptional Core Engineering Manager to lead the development of mission-critical trading infrastructure powering global cryptocurrency markets.

You will work alongside some of the industry's brightest engineers and traders while leading the design and evolution of ultra-low-latency trading platforms operating at global scale.

As a Core Engineering Manager, you'll take ownership of a critical trading platform that provides market connectivity, execution capabilities, and data infrastructure across cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide. You'll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities, driving innovation while mentoring a globally distributed team of world-class engineers.

Day-to-day:

• Architect and design high-performance trading systems for cryptocurrency markets
• Lead the development of market connectivity infrastructure, including real-time market data and order execution platforms
• Manage, mentor, and grow a global team of software engineers across multiple regions
• Partner closely with traders, business leaders, and stakeholders to prioritize strategic initiatives and deliver impactful solutions
• Drive latency optimisation through advanced systems programming, networking, and performance engineering techniques
• Build scalable platforms for historical market data analysis, simulation, and research
• Champion engineering excellence, scalability, and reliability across critical production systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Professional C++ development experience, ideally within electronic trading, quantitative finance, or other high-performance environments
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, including distributed or global teams
• Strong track record designing and delivering complex, performance-critical software systems
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
• Experience operating in fast-paced, high-performance environments

• Cryptocurrency trading or exchange connectivity experience
• Knowledge of exchange APIs, including WebSocket and HTTP protocols
• Linux systems expertise
• Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and UDP
• Experience with Python and shell scripting
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
• Mandarin language skills
